Mitch McConnell, in a recent interview with Hugh Hewitt, blamed the current status of the Federal Court system on president Barack Obama. In fact it was Mitch McConnell and his obstructionism that has left over 100 unfilled Federal seats and has created a four-fold increase of Judicial Emergencies around the nation. A Judicial Emergency is a situation when a judge is overburdened with work and is unable to operate effectively. The end result is that citizens like you and I are not getting the fair trial and attention we deserve. In short, our government is failing us.
Over the past few years McConnell and the GOP senate have deliberately protracted the confirmation process to slow down the filling of seats, in fact Mitch McConnell bragged to his supporters about obstructing Obama’s supreme court nominee, Merrick Garland. In 2015 they confirmed a total of 6 judges, the lowest rate in over 60 years. The courts were feeling the pressure back in 2015, and it hasn’t improved in the time since then. The role of the President in the process is to nominate a candidate, it is then up to the Senate to review and confirm-or-deny that candidate. It is clear that President Obama did his part and that the GOP-led Senate did not do theirs.
So go fuck yourself Mitch McConnell. Take some responsibility for the situation you had a major hand in creating. You are part of the problem, and you are responsible for denying Americans access to their rights.
